In terms of reputation, the Art History department at Williams is nationally known. I would think that it's reputation would lead to internship doors opening a little more readily than for those from a lesser known program.

The local students that I know who have headed off to either Williams or Lafayette have actually been quite similar stylistically. The Williams students have been more high-powered academically.

My daughter goes to Columbia but has spent time at Williams because one of her good friends attends (the D goes up there when she needs to decompress from city life and her friend comes down to NYC when she needs a break from the country :)). She is very impressed by the student body....even though she has said that she is much happier attending school in NYC.
