Lafayette College RD Applicants and Decisions Thread

33 ACT, great community service experience, involved in art, theater and a debate. I’m getting worried now. Lafayette is my safety

To those who got letters today, where in the country do you live?

I got my letter in CT.

@legend260 I attended Le Hong Phong high school in Ho Chi Minh City

Any international got results yet?

6700 applications for 290 RD spots. Don’t get your hopes up too high…

@Someone007‌ Nops, not yet. Still waiting >.<

@superman1234 I think you’re a bit off. That’s a bit one more than 1/3 of there class size I’m assuming and that’s not taking into account yeild. It’s likely closer like 2900 student accepted.

Got waitlisted in CT today

@ursawarrior‌ Hey I’m from LHP High School too. Have you received your acceptance letter?

@Jaydenlovemuffin Lafayette’s Twitter has recently updated that the decision email will be sent to international students on Thursday (26 March), so I bet we still have to wait until tomorrow morning in Vietnam hehe
Good luck to you all!

@Jmbakh: I’m just repeating an e-mail that was sent to me by a coach at the school. Highest number of applicants in 20+ years for a small number of openings. Looks like they admitted lots of students for ED instead.

I am sure the class is very competive. Still the point is that even if that’s the number of spots left in the class they will still accept around four time that number of students. Also I’m not saying you are wrong but I have honestly never heard of a school filling over half of it’s class in ED. Additionally it seems to be the most competive year in history at a lot of highly selective schools nearly every year so it’s probably not too different than comparable schools.

Any idea approximately what time will email be sent? I dont know if I should stay up late check my email :frowning:

Lafayette accepts a majority of its class early decision. The avg. class size at Lafayette is around 650 students. This year, Lafayette accepted 248 people ED1 and 80 people ED2. That leaves about 320 spots for the remainder of the class. With all that being said, there is an obvious yield rate at lafayette. On average, it is 28%. That means Lafayette likely accepted around 1,142 applicants for the class of 2019 out of the 7000+ applications. I am not including early decision in the yield rate, which makes it larger, but based off of past years statistics this seems about right.

anyone has an info about when the international decisions are to be mailed?

I’m an international. A guy from my school got his decision emailed around an hour ago, but I haven’t received anything. It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one lol

Somebody send me my decision! panics like crazy

Still nothing in my inbox. So tired of waiting :’(

Got my acceptance in snail mail! Phew (CT)
