Lafayette College RD (Class of 2021)

This is a discussion thread for the class of 2021. Decisions will be posted when letters come out.

I got an email inviting me to interview for the marquis fellowship a couple days ago, which I assume means I’m accepted. Has anyone else heard anything?

@anonym00se Here’s some information regarding the scholarships. I’m guessing that if you’re being considered for a scholarship you will get in. https://admissions.lafayette.edu/financial-aid/types-of-aid/lafayette-scholarships/

@anonym00se according to the Scholarship FAQ if you are being considered for a scholarship your admission is likely. I received the same email- congrats!

@anonym00se @yonceonhismouth
Hey, did you guys interview with Lafayette before? Or is this the first time you do so?
Thanks

@ThemanX I did a general admissions interview in October.

@ThemanX I have not done an interview with Lafayette yet. I did visit the school but this scholarship day will be the first time that I actually do an interview for them.

I didn’t get any such email. @anonym00se @yonceonhismouth
Does that mean there is bad news for me?

@Lisa MK it isn’t bad news exactly- all it means is that you are not being considered for Lafayette’s merit scholarships. You may still be admitted. The merit scholarships are only for their top applicants.

Oh. I’ve never gotten a grade lower than an A.
Fingers crossed for the RD result.

@Lisa MK it also depends on extracurriculars, recs, etc. Not being considered for the merit scholarships doesn’t mean you won’t get in, because only 120 people are even considered, then only 30 receive the fellowship.

I hope we all get in!

@Lisa MK on the website it says that only a few if the people considered are emailed about an interview. Most of the people who receive it are chosen based solely off of their application.

Thanks @laurclassof2021

I hope we all make it

@yonceonhismouth do you know when the decisions are released?

@acron611 by April 1, according to the website. Lafayette sends notification by snail mail.

Usually people who receive scholarships get a letter between March 12th and 15th, and the students who don’t receive it around March 20th. @acron611

@laurclassof2021 and @yonceonhismouth ty so much
