Just thought I would start this one early… Lafayette is my top school!! If anyone has any information about decision dates, please comment below.
ED results are not even out yet. You are an anxious one.
We are too…this will be a long wait for sure!
Lafayette’s one of my top choices! Hoping to hear back in mid to late March
Hey did anyone else just get the notification for Marquis Award Finalist? Also what exactly happens on the Marquis Dynamic Assement Experience?
My D also received the email to interview for the Marquis Fellowship. 1560 SAT, 102 W GPA. She’s very excited!
Great news! I just want to say that if you don’t receive an invite to interview for the Marquis Award it does not mean that you are out of contention. Reading through last year’s thread it seems some get notification of the honor in their acceptance packet.
I believe it’s the Marquis Scholars (about half tuition merit) rather than Marquis Fellows (larger merit) who get notified with admission letter. I could be wrong but I believe you have to participate in the Dynamic Assessment to be named a Fellow.
That seems like it makes more sense.
Random question, not sure if anyone here will have an answer for me… My daughter’s top choice is Lafayette, and she has applied RD. She is fortunate enough to be a National Merit Finalist, but to my knowledge Lafayette does not participate in the college-sponsored NMF Scholarship awards. That’s okay, but one of her other “backup” college choices does offer a significant scholarship to NM Finalists. If she puts this other school down as her first choice (as it pertains to the NMF competition) in order to secure the potential scholarship money (if she were to attend that school) will Lafayette see that and assume that Lafayette is not her first choice? If anyone has any insight into this situation I would appreciate learning more. The deadline for selecting her first choice for the NMF scholarship is March 1… so she won’t know about Lafayette yet. Thanks in advance if anyone knows anything!
Hey guys
I am an international student applying RD
my problem is that
I took the SAT twice. the first time I got 1400 and in the second time I got 1440. I submitted my 1400 score and wrote it in the common app and didn’t mention the 1400 score. I was inept I know because I listened to someone who told me to do that. now I want to send my 1440 score. will they accept it from me and consider it in making my decision? or they already put the decision. and what should I tell them?
is that may harm my application?
By any chance does anyone know if a 31 is competitive for Lafayette?
It’s above average…with my 31 ACT I was deferred from Lafayette (ED2).
I got deferred to regular decisions!!!
from ED2
For NMF put as your first choice one who participates in National Merit, good luck!
So financial aid just contacted me and asked for me for some extra information… does this indicate anything? Does the financial aid office do financial aid packages for all applicants or just the accepted ones? It’d be cool if it was a sign of being accepted
@misspeanut I would not read anything into that call.
Does anyone have a date (based on previous years or based on info from admissions) for RD decisions and Marquis Award decisions?
I believe last year was on 3/26.
