Lafayette Early Decision Chances

I’m wondering what my chances are for getting into Lafayette College. I’ve applied early decision.
Sex: F
Race: Caucasian
GPA: 3.8 weighted
SAT: 1300 (650 both)
ACT: 29
High school: Top-notch public high school in NJ, about 3,200 students (800 in my class). I only know of one other person applying ED.

Grades: My grades are on an upward trend over the past three years. My senior first marking period grades were all A’s and one B. I take all honors and APs.

Legacy: my grandpa, father, uncle, and aunt all graduated from Lafayette. I would be a third year generation if I attended the school. My dad is also volunteering to help out Lafayette. I’m not very sure what his role is and I’m not really sure if this will affect me in any way. He and my grandpa also donated a small amount of money.

Essay: I wrote about volunteering at a program for special needs students over the summer. I talked about a specific experience I had with one of the students and how I overcome a problem.

EC: over 300 hours of volunteer service, volunteer travel soccer coach for boys ages 13-14 (3 years), track and field (varsity), National Honor Society, tutoring, volunteer at program to help special needs students continue their learning over the summer, etc.

I also had an interview and it went very well.
Thank you to anyone who replies!

Your scores seem in range, your legacy and the fact you are applying ED will definitely give your app a boost. As long as your unweighted gpa is solid, I say you will get in. Good luck!

Thank you!! Crossing my fingers!

Your SAT scores may be a little low compared to the average, but you have so much going for you that I would think you have a good shot. Let us know how it goes, and good luck!

Thanks so much!

You look like a very solid ED/legacy candidate. Good luck.

Thank you!

I would say, you can expect a straight accept.

I hope so! Thank you!

What major are you applying to? I nearly got the same stats but my ACT 27 and 4 GPA

@youssef2000 You are an international applicant needing a lot of financial aid so I wish you all the best but your situations are not comparable.

Psychology. Hope we are classmates next year! Good luck and let me know what happens!
