How good is Lafayette’s economics department? I am waiting to heart back from Lafayette in a few weeks for the RD round of the class of 2023 and plan to enter the business field after college, concentrating in finance.
Lafayette’s economics department is excellent. It is one of the most popular majors and students are highly recruited. The school also has a financial analysis certificate that will help with internships. I interviewed with an Econ major and she interned at Morgan Stanley and she indicated that the finance classes really helped her - she was offered a full time job with Morgan. She also spoke highly of the Econ professors and the facility (Simon Hall). Good luck

The Lafayette investment club is the nations oldest college investment club and it has beaten the S&P 500 return.
Based on faculty scholarship in the field, Lafayette’s economics department appears comparable to the also excellent departments of colleges such as Bates and Amherst.
