Hang in there, guys!! Just remember that even if the letter you get doesn’t give you the news you want there is still a chance to be deferred to Regular Decision and get accepted.

Last year, they posted a few pics on FB the day they mailed out letters. So, do keep an eye the various Lafayette FB pages.

Hi guys. Mind if I join the discussion?
I’m also soooo looking forward to next week. Not because of the ED result, though (I’m already here ), but reviewing for finals is so tough. :’(
I’m an international student, and got my acceptance email on December 17 last year, btw, at 11am EST, I believe.

Hey @ursawarrior ,of course you can join this discussion! How has been the experience so far at Lafayette? What has really been challenging for you?

Hey! Im an international EARLY decision applicant living in Scotland and was wondering when you guys think I should be hearing back from Lafayette College?
Good luck everyone!!!
Johnny

@johnnykatsenbog . Quote from @slimshady4556 : " you will likely hear on the 15th. Lafayette waits 2 days after they send out their physical letters to alert international students online." :)

@AbhiFCB I heard that if you receive your letter from Lafayette earlier than the stated deadline ,it’s usually a rejection. You don’t want to receive any email from them now.Would you? haha :)

For internationals, I suggest you wait until 16 or 17. The acceptance letters are not computer-generated (each person receives a personalized acceptance letter - very cool!) so Lafayette doesn’t usually send them out before 15.

@SmartBeast Some of my impressions during the first semester:

_ I dunno if this is cultural shock, but I think American girls, in general, are beautiful. Blonde / brown hair, snow-white skin, blue eyes. And they go to the gym a lot. An energetic yet elegant beauty. Very interesting from an Asian perspective … (do I sound like a pervert? :’( )

_ The workload is certainly challenging, especially for technology-related majors. All finals are 3-hour tests.

_ We have squirrels and polecat on campus.

_ There’s Anime Club!

I had an interesting conversation with my Philosophy professor (he went to Yale for B.S, Brown for PhD and taught at MIT) about Lafayette vs Ivy League. I’ll post it on CC later if he gives me permission to.

@ursawarrior haha @ your first point. I think you are Ok, and do not sound like a pervert. It’s natural to admire something entirely different from you or something you are new to. Just like a beautiful painting :)

Do you feel very comfortable in class everyday : are you usually enthusiastic about attending class?

@AntonioE313 interviewed with the same person!! And SAT is a 1950… what about you? And whats your GPA? Mines Unweighted 3.66 and weighted is 4.3 :))

I got a 30 in the ACT. I don’t know about GPA, but for standard grade I got eight 1’s and for highers I got AAABC doing 3 sciences maths and English. Currently doing advanced maths, advanced chem, advanced physics. Do you go to an international school?

@antonioe313 yeah i do go to an international school my act is a 29! and wow thats impressive! what school do you go to? Good luck!! So nervous

@johnnykatsenbog is it the international school of Aberdeen by any chance? Just a regular state school. It’s in a relatively “deprived” area, which apparently works in my favour. I don’t know if you’ve heard of the “Sutton Trust”, but that’s who’s financed all my tests, admissions help, travel to London, and also they funded for me to do Summer school at MIT, Harvard, and Yale! Good luck to you man, this is so intense!
