Mail just delivered here in Maryland (Suburban DC), nothing today from Lafayette.
Just got mail…nothing but bills lol.
Nothing here in CT
Not in today’s mail here in Maryland (Baltimore County)
@greeneandh please don’t be disheartened, I already have six rejections and I had considered around 2/3 of them my ‘safeties’ haha, and I one acceptance from Drexel where I can’t even afford to go to. I’m expecting an L from Lafayette as well, because atm I’ve lost all hope. But it’s okay, it’s not the end of the world. We’ll get through this, something will definitely work out.
@greeneandh Keep in mind that any rejections are not a rejection of you as a person or a reflection of of what you accomplished. It is simply that admissions officers have to fill a class as best they can and there are not enough spots for all worthy candidates. I hope acceptances fall in line the way you want, but it looks like you applied to a number of reach schools so please do not take it personally if they don’t work out. Keep your head up and focus on the positives. Don’t forget that as of this moment you are already holding one excellent acceptance (Stony Brook is a fine school) and you can only attend one college.
Good luck to everyone.
Thank you to everyone who responded to my depressing comment last night (lol)! I was really down in the dumps last night, but now I’m feeling a little better! I hope we all get that big package on Monday
Lafayette was my third choice school. Yesterday I got waitlisted from my dream school and rejected from my second choice so I’m really praying for Lafayette. After that my only options are two safety state schools I really didn’t want to go to.
Good luck everyone!
No mail yet here in MA. Fingers crossed for Monday!
did anyone call the admission office? if u have news about the decisions, please post it!
Especially for international applicants, please
Don’t want to be preachy, but please remember that who you become is not determined by where you go to college. The problem these days is with the common app, kids apply to so many schools that many more are rejected from their real choices. I went to college back in olden days. Crazy stepmother made me be a nurse (not kidding), go to state school (which took anyone who could write their name back then). Long story short, I eventually ended up several years later graduating from an Ivy League law school through determination and a huge amount of hard work. You, too, can become anything you want!
Have you heard back from Lafayette tho?
“…At this point, none of our Regular Decision candidates have a confirmed admissions decision. The admissions team is finalizing its decisions this week, and official/confirmed decision letters will be released within the week – via postal mail for domestic candidates, and via e-mail for international candidates. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to be in touch.”
Sincerely,
Mathew Hyde
Dean of Admissions
