Lafayette RD 2022

@susan99 super bummed because it was one of my top choices and I thought that really showed in my interview. Waitlisted at lehigh as well, accepted into UMD Honors College, BU, and Northeastern. If I don’t get any good news on ivy day I think I’ll appeal.

What about the international applicants?

@pcmom1
Congrats! Did you get the Scholar notification in your package today?

Daughter accepted to Lafayette RD as a Marquis Scholar. FYI: Information about merit was included in the admissions packet which came today. So if you receive the letter of admission you will know if you will receive merit money. She had a weighted GPA of 4.3 and a 1470 SAT. Her essays and letters of recommendation were very strong and her involvement in a devised theatre group at a professional theatre company in Washington DC probably helped. Good Luck to everyone. I know this entire process has been difficult.

@karbo222, yes. It was mentioned in her acceptance letter and there was a separate letter about the scholarship.

Got accepted. 1310 SAT, 3.7 UW (4.1 W), 8 APs, 1 Varsity sport, 1 JV sport, several leadership positions. I know my stats weren’t that impressive, but I think what made a difference was the interview.

I know that generally, interviews don’t carry much weight, but mine went very well, and get this- my interviewer had the same name as me (Corinne, which is pretty uncommon. Also, it was spelled the same) AND she was majoring in what I wanted to major in (Environmental Studies). Because my stats were on the low end of their ranges at best, this and my personal statement were the only areas in which I think I stood out.

I guess I could add that she had 11 IB courses, 1 AP course and many Honors courses. She took PE online so that she could take extra electives during the school day. She also interviewed which went well.

Son accepted RD as Marquis Scholar. ACT 36, GPA 3.9/4.3, 12 APs, SAT Subject tests Math 2 790, Chemistry 800, AP Scholar with Distinction, NMF, 2 season varsity athlete all four years. Interviewed…

Anyone receive the Marquis Fellowship?

Accepted. ACT 32, GPA 4.1W 3.8 UW, 7 APs, varsity sport all four years, didn’t interview
absolutely no financial aid
