Does anyone have any news or ideas about the waitlist for the incoming Class of 2014? Any help would be much appreciated!

Contact the admissions office (admissions@lafayette.edu). They will be able to give you the most accurate information.

Anyone have any information yet about the waitlist at Lafayette? If anyone gets in off of the waitlist, please post on here. Thanks!

I think it is unlikely Lafayete will draw from their waitlist this year. A girl we know missed the May 1 deadline for saying she was going there and they denied her because they said they are 5% over-subscribed. And she was a recruited athlete. Ouch!

I have no insight as to whether Lafayette will or won’t turn to the waitlist but I have heard elsewhere that Lafayette had a substantial increase in yield this year. I had heard Lafayette has received approx. 650 deposits (against a target class of 620 Freshman). This is identical to the previous poster’s info of roughly 5% above the target.

It also seems the College changed tacts and initially admitted more students than last year and (based on another thread) more proactively went after those students. Based on the being over-subscribed, I guess the change in tact worked. Maybe too well…

I understand that is no consolation to those holding out hope of gaining admission. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for all of you that I am wrong and/or the college you do attend leaves you never looking back.

I gave up my spot for admission last week when I informed Lafayette that I will not attend. They sent a nice note back thanking me for responding, they said they can now select someone off their wait list. Best of luck!
