Lake Forest College (Chicago) vs. Rollins College (Orlando, Florida)

I’ve been accepted into both.

The weather is vastly different of course

Rollins has more money, an accelerated business program, and sun

Lake Forest has Chicago and an accelerated bio/neuroscience program

Rollins is known as a party school, half there cuz of money, half for the academics and scholarship.

Lake Forest is known as a winter grinding school for academically motivated students.

I really liked what I felt at Rollins. However, I worry about the potential opportunities at Lake Forest. I’ve also been advised that Lake Forest students could be better suited to my personality.

Any comments?

Oh.

My interests are business, politics, economics, the sciences.

I want to be involved in high-tech: nanotechnology, cybernetics, human enhancement, neurosciences

What did you FEEL at Rollins? You sound like you’re into a nice mix of STEM and business/politics. At Lake Forest, you can focus more on your academics. At Rollins, you might be tempted to party.

My niece studied hard at Rollins, loved her time there. there was also weekend partying, but she was very focused on her studies, so only partook when it suited her. She made many great connections that led to a nice job (in florida). You might want to think about where you want to end up – north or south?

You can’t beat Florida’s weather but maybe you’re a northern person?

I’ve never been a fan of the cold.

My main attraction to Lake Forest is the possibility of getting into Neuroscience and Chicago (Love big cities).

At Rollins, I felt like I was in California again, which was very nice.
