Lakeshore or Southeast

As a prospective student, I hear everyone tries to live in the southeast dorms. Do people from Wisconsin live on either side compared to out of staters like myself. Any insight here is appreciated thanks!

People tend to choose Southeast because the party dorms are there. Lakeshore is a lot more quiet and tend to have the students that prefer to study a bit more. Don’t get me wrong, Southeast also has intelligent students. You have to be a great student to get in. I would prefer Lakeshore because it is more study friendly.

Not “everyone” does anything at UW. You need to decide which location and buildings appeal to you most. You will find like minded students in any dorm you choose. OOS all over based on past history. Don’t worry about where you come from when choosing a Res Halls dorm, go with the features you like. High/low rise, city/suburban feel, old/new, so many others.
