Language and Chemistry Exam

Do we have to take those two tests?

nevermind ..i found it =P

Does anyone know if we need to take the chemistry placement exam if we've already passed the AP Chemistry test?

you shouldn't have to

:( I need to take Chem. I'm exempt from Math and Language via both AP tests and SATII scores, but chem, blah. I never took AP chem, and chem in hs was what I had done poorly in my sophomore year to ruin my GPA.

Gotta do some hardcore review the next two weeks to get up to speed for the chem test. Anyone else going to do so too? Or am I just a loner in being not only weak but rusty in chem?

what exempts u from the language and chem exams?

look on your specific college's website.

Don't know if it applies to all, but a 680 on II Writing or a passing grade (3, 4 or 5) on either of the english AP tests gets you past the language exam.

Chem exam is a passing grade on the ap test, I think or.. hm. not sure. look it up. ;P

Are we exempted from the chem exam if we get higher than a 680 in SAT II chem? I am in warren, btw. I can't seem to find any info on this.

but you don't need to take the chem test if you're not planning on taking any chem/science courses, right?

no, you don't.

Good thing I'm taking the Math 20B series in college.

Chemistry has been my worst tested course in HS so far :{ (3 in IB Chem/non-passing)

if we take the chem and we pass, do we have the choice of taking the most basic chem( for people who didn't take the test or didn't pass) or like a higher level chem? I want to take it but I don't know if I want to skip one year of chem yet..anyone know about this?

I was going to take Math 20B+ series too, but I wimped out.
I'd rather pad my GPA with A's in courses I already know than get B's or C's in courses I couldn't handle yet. I'm just going to start with math 10B, and see how college life treats me. If it's easy, I'll start moving up and getting more classes.
Plus, chem scares me. Of the 4 classes I'll take this fall quarter, I need to focus on chem, so if the other classes are easy, :P all the better.

:x GPA = all mighty ruler of life for med school.

haha yeah i'm definately looking for the same route as you syneria. yay for easy courses! high five

what if you don't want to test out of chemistry. i have almost no knowlege of chemistry and i don't want to waste my time taking a test i can't pass. i would rather go back to beginning chemistry anyway.

thats a good point.

do we have to take it to sign up or can we just not take it and go into beginning?

yeah, id like to know this too

I would like to know this information also. I took my sciences out of order.

Freshman: H. Bio I
Sophomore: AP Bio. II
Jr.: H. Physics
Sr.: H. Chemistry

I don't understand a lick of chemistry. It's the worst grade I've ever received in the sciences. I'm not majoring in any of the science fields, but if I need to take chemistry, I'd rather have a solid foundation first.

i dont think that honors would count to anything creditwise, so i guess we're all just taking the chem placemnt test again.
