Language/Business Schools

I am passionate about foreign languages, but I don't think there is a whole lot I could do with a double major in French and Chinese, which is what I wanted to do.

I was considering doing a language and business together, as a double major. What are the absolute BEST undergraduate schools for both of these programs?

Harvard Upenn Stanford

Harvard and Stanford don't have undergraduate business programs.

Look into:
IndianaUniversity-Bloomington (Kelley)
New York University (Stern),
University of California-Berkeley (Haas)
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (Ross)
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (Kenan Flagler)
University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)
University of Virginia (McIntire)

All 7 of those universities have awesome campuses, great college scenes, top 10 Business schools, top 10 language programs and excellent overall reputations.

sorry, misread the question. Just saw "best schools in both of these programs"

U of M does? Interesting. I live in Traverse City, Michigan, so it's kind of a back-up school (every AP student I know got into U of M!)

Hcinazo, sure Michigan is a backup school, if you have a 3.8+ unweighed GPA, a top 5% class ranking and 1400+ on the SAT. And if you have less than a 3.5 GPA, are ranked out of the top 20% and have less than a 1200 on the SAT, you are pretty much guaranteed a rejection. Anything in between is a shot in the dark.

But Michigan's B-School is ranked among the top 2 or 3 in the nation at the undergraduate level and Michigan has top 10 programs in every single language under the sun, including French and Chinese.

Wow. Well, I guess that's one to consider! College for me seems to be about getting away, but if they are so highly ranked in that department, I'll definitely take U of M more seriously.

I would certainly hope that you will consider Michigan. A top 10 or top 15 university with top 10 programs in the field you are thinking of majoring in that, located in an awesome college town and incredibly spirited campus, that will cost you less than $15,000 to attend and it is a mere 4 hours drive from home. It doesn't get much better than that!

"But Michigan's B-School is ranked among the top 2 or 3 in the nation at the undergraduate level"

-Really?

Yes, Michigan is generally regarded as one of the top 3 undergraduate B-Schools. There aren't many highly recognized rankings of undergraduate business programs. The USNWR ranking is probably the most recognized.

Thanks for the help/advice. I'm really considering Berkeley right now, because they have a great Masters journalism program, which is another field I am interested in going into.

How is Northwestern U as far as language/business programs go? I know they are the top undergraduate journalism school in the country.

Northwestern, like Harvard and Stanford, has a top ranked MBA program but no undergraduate business program.

Penn has a program for language/business called Huntsman which is very highly regarded.
