So I was applying for my tag to ucsc and realized that i was short a few credits. I remembered that I didn’t transfer my highschool language credits yet so I just ordered my transcript but it won’t be coming for another 5-10days. The TAG is due tomorrow, what can I do about this
What high school language credits? Did you take a language class at a CC, or are the credits from an AP exam?
Put your information into the transfer admissions planner for TAG, it will tell you your units. You submit your transcripts after you are accepted, so don’t worry about that. You don’t have to submit transcripts for TAG.
Try to make things more clear. High school language credits can come from any number of things, we don’t know what that means.
So I finished the language requirements back in high school by taking more than 2 years of a language. How would I go about filling this in on the TAG? Like which quarter would this fall under?
I’m gonna go talk to my counselor today and see what’s up.
You cannot apply hs units. It only fulfills the language subject in IGETC. You are still short the units.
^
Perhaps take a late start class, or a winter intersession class. High school courses will not grant you college credit, unless you took an AP exam and scored a 3 or higher.
^^ I think he is saying he is short the 30 unit req to TAG. (?)
Ah. If you are short the units, then yes, you will be unable to TAG.
Yeah, so I talked to to my counselor. I thought that the classes I took in high school transferred over to college. Turns out it only fulfills the language area and allows me to take an upper division language course. Guess I’ll have to add another course in order to meet the credit requirements. Thanks guys!
