<p>well ... one counts for your GPA and another one doesn't.</p>
<p>example: i know my conversation skills are much better than my writing skills, so i opted to take french conversation for a letter grade and the grammar component pass/fail. it worked out perfectly.</p>
<p>but keep in mind: a "D" in a letter-graded class is passing, as in you don't need to take it again. in a pass/fail class, you need to get a "C-" or higher to pass.</p>
