I am going to take the Spanish online placement test, but I was wondering how much I should study for it. I took Spanish 2 way back last spring, so I can't remember everything I learned. However, I still am going to take the placement test, even though I want to take Arabic, not Spanish. It says that we MUST complete it before I-day, and that's why I'm taking it. I don't want to spend a lot of time on it unless it is really necessary though. How hard did people (besides PETKO) who took it think it was? Did anyone else spend a lot of time studying for it? How did you do? Does only two years of Spanish pretty much guarentee that I won't do well anyway? Thanks for the help.

As I understand it, you don't have to take a language placement test. If you're really interested in Arabic, I think you can just skip the Spanish test and figure out the scheduling later.

Ill probably take both. How long are they online?

They aren't timed, but (for Spanish at least) they recommend spending an hour and a half.

Ok thanks. Did you only take that one?

Yep, just Spanish for me. No ich bin ein Berliner.

lol. ja. I only took a year of german, and two of italian, seeing as the academy doesnt have that, spanish is the closest thing, so im kind of debating between the spanish and german.

All this reminds me of an old joke: anyone know what comes between fear and sex? Answer: Funf (ok, this is only funny if you can count in German)

lol, I heard that joke 2 days ago for the first time in GE. :)

Groan...(having German for 4 years)
