I personally took the French placement test, but I'm assuming this question applies to all of them.

What kind of score puts you into which class?
I got a 79, and I was wondering what I can expect to come of such a score. And how many options we have. I was thinking about French 3, because I went through 5AP, but my school's french isn't that great. I was just curious if that actually puts me there, or if I'm going to end up starting French again (a lovely 4.0 for my gpa...).

FRENCH (L34) Test: LNF
To receive Advanced Placement credit in French for a score of 3 or 4 you must complete a 300-level course with a grade of B or better.

Score of 5 you get 6 units of credit equivalent to L34 French 102D and 201D. Students may enroll in a 300-level course conducted in the language. (Meaning French 3 I believe)
4 Automatically grants 3 units of credit for L34 French 102D and gives another 3 units of credit for French 201D contingent upon satisfactory completion of a 300-level course with a B or better--other than conversation--conducted in the language.
3 6 units of credit equivalent to L34 French 102D and 201D, contingent upon completion of a 300-level course with a grade of B or better--other than conversation--conducted in the language.
2, 1 No credit given.

Im not sure from your post, but Im assuming you got a 5 on your AP "you went through 5AP". Therefore you get credit for French 1 and 2 only if you take the French 3 at WASHU.

If I am wrong about you getting a 5 - read this
I do believe the French placement test is out of 100 but I am not sure, actually I only heard this from my bud who complains about French all the time. I am pretty sure you got into French 3 but not completely.

But dont get your hopes high because this is information passed through complaining lips lol.

BTW Guys dont worry too much. Curiosity is fine of course, but when you come to college and you get placed into a lower French class and you have problems with that youll HAVE AMPLE amount of time to talk to the department about it. You also HAVE AMPLE AMPLE time to drop the course and not have it show up on your transcript. Soooo breathe Relax and enjoy the last few days of your high school years before you get dropped into the writhing mass that is college students. Good Luck.

haha, i'm sorta excited about this writhing mass. i figure if i'm in a lower french than i expected... i'll get a better grade. french at my school sucks, so no, i didn't take the ap test at all, and people who did generally got 2's and 3's... it just wasn't worth my time with 3 other ap's... thanks for the info.
