like the last poster, I got a 0 on my spanish language placement exams, even though I took spanish for four years. For one thing, as of now, i hate spanish and I really want to take another language. However, on the website it says we must pass a level III course

would it be worth it to study another language (that I would have to start in level I anyways), or to suffer spanish since I already know a bit in that

i think that something is seriously messed up with their system. the only people ive talked to who have already taken the lang. tests are you, me, and a friend (mr penguin on this site).... and we have all received 0's

I got a zero and I'm shocked.... but I might as well start over at spanish 1. I wasn't very good at Spanish anyways... even though I've taken spanish for 5 years

both of you should email assess@usc.edu
they said my score was actually 703, and in fact NOT a zero.
good luck!

I am really nervous about taking the Language Placement Test. I have been in French for 3 years (gotten all As), but I really don't think I am that proficient. I am probably going to major in a natural science, which means foreign language has little to do with my major and I was hoping I could avoid taking as much French as possible. How hard is the placement test for French? Is there anything I can study to prepare?

HEY EVERYONE!!!
the email assess@usc.edu is WRONG. I emailed them, and they called me, saying they are frustrated they are receiving emails regarding language placement, since its a completely different department. all questions regarding orientation should be emailed to orient@usc.edu.

Either way, he said that our scores should be available at the end of the orientation HW when we are ready to print it out... either way don't email the assess or they will be angry =(
