Language Requirement & SATII's

I was accepted to the College ED, and am starting to get my head around what classes I will be taking next year. I have taken 4 years of latin, and scored a 630 on the SATii…will be taking the AP exam on Vergil this coming May, but do not intend to pass (our latin program is very weak, the fact that I even got a 630 my junior year is astounding).

For current Penn students or those in-the-know: should I retake my SATii to try to test out of the language requirement? I really don’t want to take college level latin, and my only real plausible alternative would be spanish (it’s been years since i’ve touched it)…according to the CAS site:

LATIN Under 450 Latin 101
450 to 540 Latin 102
550 to 590 Latin 203
600 to 640 Latin 204
650 or above Exempt

I’m only 20 points away…should I retake it for kicks? Will this mean that I don’t have to take a language?

I'd say you should retake it and see how it goes. Or maybe even take the department test, if there is one. I don't think the SATIIs are very good about this. I did poorly on my French SATII but then I was except from French with the Penn department test. But yeah, I'd say retake it.

Retake it. You won't get credit for it, but you'll get a waiver.
