Language Requirement - stick with familiar or start fresh?

<p>As another note, for those who have previous experience in a language, don’t assume you should be in a certain level class, take the placement tests offered at the beginning of the school year.</p>

<p>My experience was that the Spanish placement test was absurdly easy and I placed out of all three years which definitely surprised me. I would’ve liked to start on a new language but just couldn’t bring myself to suffer through drill haha</p>

<p>Sorry, this next question is onlyslightly related. But can’t you get some sort of credit/placement out of a language if you scored over 700 on a language sat II? I did, but for a language that is not taught at Dartmouth. Like I said before, I still want to take a language course (spanish, french, latin). Is this placement/credit out of a language required?</p>
