<p>Do a lot of colleges require that you continue to take foreign language classes once you're enrolled (i.e. the "core courses" or "core requirements")? If so, is there any way to get around this? If you write a persuasive, petition-like essay, could it get you out of it?</p>
<p>If its required, then the likelihood of “getting out of it” is nil. However, many colleges will allow you to fulfill the requirement with an AP Lang score or Subject Test score. Otherwise, just don’t apply to colleges that have a language requirement.</p>
