I am planning on applying ED to Cornell School of Arts and Sciences. I am a rising junior, and have already chosen next year's courses, but looking at Cornell's freshman requirements I found that A&S requires 3 years of a foreign language. I just finished AP Chinese, so I only have 2 years. I'm a bit confused. Does 3 years of a foreign language actually require taking the language for three years in HS or just the proficiency people achieve after three years of study? If the latter is true, doesn't that mean I technically just need to get to Chinese 3? Please help!
