Hi all,
I was wondering if there is a language requirement at AU for a political science major or in the general core curriculum. I am currently trying to decide whether or not to take Spanish 4 my senior year!

Political science majors do not have a language requirement, whereas international studies majors do have a two year language requirement (or the equivalent of two years worth of language proficiency).

It doesn’t matter whether or not you take the 4th year language course. In order to receive credit and get out of the language requirement you need to take the AP Spanish Language OR Literature exam and pass with a 4. Either of the two exams will get you out of the language requirement.

AP Spanish Language is the equivalent of 6 credits: SPAN 252 and SPAN 253.
AP Spanish Literature is the equivalent of 6 credits: SPAN 356 and SPAN 357.
