Language School

Hey all,
I'm very interested in applying to the Midd Spanish School for a summer session. Does anyone know how competitive it is? I applied to Midd last year and didn't get in. Is it as competitive to get into as the school itself is?

I don’t think it’s as competitive as getting into the school itself. Try it!

I attended Midd’s language schools for three summers and, while they don’t give admissions statistics, I don’t think they’re very competitive. They are a fantastic experience though. They have rolling admissions, so the earlier you get your application in, the better your chance will be of being accepted. I always sent my application in by January and got a response within 4-6 weeks.

Hey this is a bit off topic but I have question.

If I am an undergrad student at Middlebury, will I be able to take a language and be able to go into depth with it? I am not majoring in a language but I want to study one, particularly Chinese. Will I be able to study Chinese while I do my coursework? Again, I’m not referring to the language school but to courses as part of my overall liberal arts curriculum

^Definitely. Lots of non-language majors take language classes at Midd simply because the quality of the classes themselves is so good.
