Is it necessary to minor in a language in order to study it? I want to take classes for Japanese or Korean but not necessarily get a degree in it, what I do want is a better chance to work in Japan or Korea after I graduate college with a Bioengineering degree, I am also interested in studying abroad from UC- but with a Bioengineering major, is it possible to study abroad in Japan or Korea as a UC student with a Bioengineering major or do I need to have a related study- at least as a minor to be eligible for this? For example Bioengineering Major and Japanese Language/Literature and minor in order to be eligible to study abroad as a sponsored UC student?
