Language subject test?

This is straight from their website;

“Students applying to the College are encouraged to take a foreign language Subject Test. This test is used for both admissions and proper placement at the college level. Appropriate language scores also afford exemption from the language requirement.”

Are we in trouble if we dont have a language SAT II?

I already asked this. Use the search function, not that I do. You do not need a language SATII to get in.

i tried the search function - can someone provide a link to this old thread?

It may have been deleted. Either way, a few penn admits wrote how they did not take the language test. It worked out for them, so why not us.

Yeah, I think a language SAT II is only recommended because it could allow you to place out of the language or something... It's not really a big deal, I don't even think most people on CC have a language SAT II.

yeah - those language tests are harrd!

when my regional admissions officer came to the school, I asked him exactly:
"Will students applying to the college have a disadvantage if they did not take a language SAT II"
And he was like "Definetly, not" .......so that answer's that

I really encourage you guys to take the Language SAT II either before or after you are accepted for placement. If you don't take it, it won't effect your chances BUT you'll need to take a placement test once you get here. There IS a language requirement you know...

are you kidding me?? You think the SAT II subject tests are bad? Wait till you take the APs...it's murder

^Well, for APs you generally take the class and have some preparation. For the language SATII, you may have taken a language without an SATII, may not have prepared for it, etc, etc.

I self-studied for the SAT II and the AP Spanish tests

I got a 740 SAT and a 3 AP...the AP test is brutal
