Language

Hi! I just wanted to ask if there is any way that I can take a test to verify thst I speak a language. For example, I can speak and write in Gujarati, but I know that in order for colleges to realize, I need to take a test for it, but what type of test would I take and where can I find these tests. Thanks

No college will ask you to prove proficiency for admissions purposes. But if you really want to take a test, the nearest Gujarati cultural center should have some ideas.

Actually, California publics allow proven proficiency in place of their foreign language admission requirement. The practical issue is that it may be difficult to get recognized proof of proficiency in Gujarati. See http://www.ucop.edu/agguide/a-g-requirements/e-language/index.html .

Of course, this may not be relevant to the OP, since the OP’s other posts mention 0-100 GPAs that are uncommon in California (seems to be most common in New Jersey or New York). OP should check the state universities in these states and other universities of interest to see if there are any policies that relate to the question.

To be clear, I was referring to the section on the application which asks the applicants to list the languages in which s/he is proficient @ucbalumnus

From other posts, the OP completed French 3 last year, so would have met UC a-g requirements that way.
