I saw that at UM you need to be at 4th semester proficiency. Is it true? Do they give you a test before you take classes to determine if you need to take the language at UM? How hard are these? I've taken Latin for 3 years and I hate it so I do not want to have to take it again in college.

Also does anyone know if Latin has a listening test? What is the format?

You do need to have at least four years of language (or AP level) to reduce your language requirements from 2 years to 1. Some students opt to just start over again with a new language (usually can end up being a minor). It’s a pain, we know, and that’s why cheating happens quite often in foreign language classes.
