Language

What with budget cuts and all, if I chose to go to RPI, what would my options be for minoring in a language?

At the moment I do not believe there are any languages.

If there were, you likely would not have enough time. People go to RPI for a solid engineering background… in my opinion the time you’d spend on a language minor would be better spent in a dual major or some kind of comp sci minor.

We were there for a college tour/info session and heard that RPI has set up agreements with local colleges to allow you to take language classes. There should be a list of colleges and the languages offered. I believe they said that it is included in tuition, but you should confirm. Don’t know if that would allow you to minor.

I’m definitely planning to take Japanese classes and one of my friends is too so they should have it, I can’t picture a great school not having it. There’s a nearby community college that I emailed about it and they redirected me, but I’ll just wait for the Accepted Students thing on Saturday to ask.
