Languages: Georgetown vs Middlebury

Does anyone know about the 2 programs? Also, selectivity Georgetown College vs Midd.

Thanks very much.

I don't know much about the two comparitavely, but Georgetown is very good with languages, and I assume Middlebury is too, but I'd guess that G-town is better. As for admissions, G-town is a little harder to get into probably, but if you are trying for SFS, then it is much harder than Middlebury or the general school at Georgetown. Which languages? or which region, if not specific with languages.

Romance languages: French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese

I am trying to compare GU College and Midd., not SFS...

According to USNews, both have a 23% acceptance rate.

Midd. is harder on the app. (3 SAT IIs including IC or IIC or science or science IB) they look at SAT I as well. App. must include a corrected english composition paper. My impression is that Midd. is more selective. SAT range is higher.

Middlebury has one of the best programs in the entire country for language, and their summer program is internationally known. Take a look at the Midd website for more info.

Middlebury's language programs are world renowned. They have schools abroad in 21 locations throughout the world (in Argentina, China, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain and Uruguay). Both summer immersion and academic year classes are rigorous and thorough.
