Languages proficient in on Common App

Hi, I just need to double check. Say that, hypothetically, you grew up speaking a foreign language, but once you started school, you forgot the language except for a few phrases. Would you mark this language as your "first language" on the common app? Or would you just say that English is your first language?
Thanks!

You should check it as your first language, but you probably can’t say that you’re fluent in reading, speaking, writing, etc.

I have the exact same problem! Does anyone have any other input? English isn’t my first language but I don’t speak my first language very well anymore…

Even if you aren’t fluent or forgotten most of your first language, you can still list it as your first language. As nhdmaniac mentioned, you probably can’t check anything other than the “First Language” checkbox.
