Hey guys, do I need a case or special bookbag for my laptop, or would it be fine if I put it in a normal backpack? Also, any good bag models you guys recommend? Thanks

If you want to use your regular bookbag, then you can just use a laptop sleeve. You put your laptop into the sleeve, then insert the sleeve into your bookbag. There's a thread on this board about buying one of those; just search for it.

This is the thread on laptop sleeves, if you're interested: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=83361

yeah i agree with redski, laptop sleeves are sooo much more convinient than the special book bags because you aren't constantly switching your stuff from one bag to another. llbean sells one for like 20 or 30 dollars that fits most standard sized laptops

1) Laptop Sleeve for regular backpack

2) Backpack that is designed for laptops w/o looking like a laptop case. I don't recommend anything like this with HP, Targus, Kensington, etc. as a brand because it signals to others its purpose. Eagle Rock and Deuter have backpacks designed for laptops, but they're not in that industry alone. They also design school bags and hiking bags.

They make backpacks with special laptop compartments built in. That could be something to look for.
