I am all but certain that I will be attending the U of I next year for engineering. I am in engineering undeclared and might like to go into computer engineering, but I’m not sure, hence the major. So, my question is, what laptop should I get? I have a desktop computer that I plan on bringing to school next year that is more than powerful enough to handle engineering programs and such. So, I am thinking that I will need a laptop for word processing, internet browsing, maybe light gaming and maybe some programs for a math minor I plan on getting, such as LaTeX. Any thoughts on which laptop I should get? Price is not that much of an issue, but I don’t want to be paying $2000+ for a new MacBook Pro with retina or anything like that.
