<p>SBR - yes, that is very inefficient. My D has had a laptop since 5th grade. Both her middle school and high school had full time staff who kept items like power cords, battery packs, etc. and even did some repair work. Both schools participated in the Microsoft/Toshiba Anytime, Anywhere Laptop Program.</p>

<p>Can't believe that Duke University OIT doesn't have the same capability as her middle school and high school.</p>

<p>Eh, if you must, blame it on bureaucracy. Happens all the time. My middle school teachers had trouble getting a box of dry erase marker, never mind a laptop battery.</p>
