Hello all and thxs in advance for helping me out here. I will be attending Cornell next year as an architecture student and I was wondering whether any of you are aware of minimum and recommended requirements/specs that the laptop I plan on buying should have? Definitely don't want to have a laptop that cannot run all the appropriate architecture software I will need to use. Thxs again.

but something cheap and crappy ... then, buy an awesome one for your 3rd year as an architecture student. This way, you don't spend a ton of money for an outdated machine.

thxs for your post gomestar. Any former/current arch. student have a suggestion for recommended specs though? I still don't want to make a poor first choice.

you wont need it for anything architecture ... there's computers in the shop with all of the high end programs you'll need. The only one that may be of help to you is photoshop, but it's far from a requirement and every computer in the shop is loaded with it.

My gf is in architecture, yet her laptop is used nearly exclusively for internet, word, and iTunes.
