Looking for a lightweight, skinny laptop with good battery life (more than 7 hours)
It must be a PC, and no lenovos.
So far, I've only found the samsung ativ book 9

Why no Lenovos? I have a Thinkpad and it’s great.

There are plenty of laptops out there that meet these requirements. The Samsung you mentioned is just one of many ultrabooks out there, which seems to be the category you’re looking at. Newegg is often a good site to see what’s out there and narrow down by specs/price: <a href=“Are you a human?”>Are you a human?;

What else are you looking for in a computer? What’s your budget, preferred screen size, and what do you plan to use it for?

Preferred screen size is 13inch, budget is anything less than 1.3k. I don’t like the way lenovos look
Will mostly be used to surf web, and excel

Lenovos have a pretty wide range of appearances, and even the thinkpads look a lot less clunky than they did a few years ago. Something like the Yoga Pro is a pretty good deal, has great reviews, and will get 8-9 hours of battery.

For the kind of use you describe, pretty much any specs will get the job done, even a $300-$400 computer. The thin & light is what drives up the cost.

yea but i want a higher quality laptop that will last be 4 years, prolly gonna go with a macbook and run windows, thanks
oh, and yea i considered the yoga, but they do not get 8-9 hours of battery, they get like 5. lenovo grossly inflates battery life
Battery life wasn’t too far off for me. I get 10 hours oh mine without adjusting anything. Personally, I think macs are way overpriced for the specs; you pay a lot for the Apple name brand. And in your cost estimates, don’t forget to include the price of a Windows license to run that on your machine.
Personally, I find that my Mac gets the advertised battery life. I recently bought the Macbook Pro Retina 13 inch in August. One word of advice I would have is to make sure you can fit all your stuff into that 256 or 128 GB HDD Apple gives standard. If not you should look at the older non-retina Macbook Pro, even though it isn’t “skinny”, it has a tremendous amount of storage flexibility.
nano, you get 10 hours on the yoga?
And i don’t really use that much space, i think 128 should be more than enough
10 hrs on my thinkpad t440p, which is what was advertised.
ok, change of plans, the new xps 13 is looking awesome wiith 15 hours of battery life, waiting for the reviews first tho.
Mine loves the MacBook Pro.
