I need to purchase my laptop for school soon, but I have no idea what I need. I'm in LSP right now, and will eventually transfer over to CAS. I dont plan on doing any type of graphic design or anything like that, but I want a laptop that can smoothly play videos, hold my itunes and pictures, run the internet and word processor.

What is the best brand to get? What are some features I may find helpful? What size is reasonable to carry around?

Most people get the basic Macbook. Those with more money to spend get a Macbook Pro, though I don’t think it’s really necessary for what’s being done in college. There isn’t a large population of PC users at NYU.

Thanks for your response. I dont think Im going to be getting a macbook since they’re pretty expensive. I want something more in the $500-$750 range just because it really only needs to do basic stuff. My friend has the Macbook, and she loves it, but she admits that a lot of what it comes with isnt really needed.
