Hi, I was looking for laptop suggestions for me as I plan to go into Computer Science and Engineering at Ohio State. I’ve heard differing opinions and was just hoping from some advice. Anything helps!
My son (junior in high school who does a lot of programming) likes his Lenovo T450 http://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/lenovo-thinkpad-t450s
& now wants a P70: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/p-series/
This one - the 550s – is another good one I believe: http://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/lenovo-thinkpad-w550s
But you might want to check out some here: http://www.laptopmag.com/best-laptops - of course expense & features vary.
I understand the feel of the keyboard can matter to programmers so you might want to go “meet” some in person and see what you like - maybe at Best Buy or a computer store. Hope this helps some.
@CA1543 Thank you! I will definitely check those out
Any current/recent past CSE students with input?
I’m a current OSU CSE student and Lenovos are super effective and popular. Lenovo Flex is the most most effective one that’s also a super good laptop
@meganporter Thank you very much for the recommendation! That was my top choice before and this solidified it!
@meganporter Do you have windows 10 on your computer? Im wondering about compatibility for programs used.
