I am currently saving up for a laptop to use during college as an architecture student. I am not really sure what kind I should get.
I’m looking for one within the price range of $700-$1100
I need one that will able to handle running Revit fluently. It needs to have a lot of ram and a good graphics card.
Thank You!
For that price definitely PC> Mac. Is there a recommended spec for graphics? Sometimes you can get an “integrated” graphics card that doesn’t require a separate power supply (thereby saving battery life)
Given your budget and interests you should look for a good PC. I personally recommend lenovo - they make some really nice PCs that you can get relatively cheap during a sale.
Revit doesn’t work on MacOS/OSX and.parallels/bootcamp aren’t always the best option for engineering applications due to the memory and graphics demands.
Our computer guy recommends Leno highly.
Good luck with Revit - ugh, what a dog of a program. But somehow Autodesk convinced everyone to use it.
