Alright my laptop is MAJORLY tripping. Spyware and all. I want to do a system recovery..but i have a lot of porn and school files that i dont want to lose. I dont have an external drive that i can save the files on. What can i do?

I wonder why it is tripping...

hahaah....

LOL. ok hmm... if this only happened recently you can try System Restore to see if it helps. It doesn't delete any of your documents, but it doesn't always work either. Xdrive.com gives you 5 gigs of free online storage, so that's a pretty good solution. External hard drives are getting cheaper nowadays; they're pretty affordable. I have one to back up my some of my files. A USB drive is good too and much cheaper, but they're not good for long term storage as the data fades with time.

Oh yeah- i totally forgot about system restore. I'll try that first. But this Xdrive.com: will i be uploading each individual file to the website? That would take a really long time wouldn't it?

look on slickdeals.net and find a good deal on an external hard drive. then after you get everything off of the computer you want, reimage it.

You can upload entire folders onto xdrive if I'm not mistaken.

Load spybot S&D, and see if that helps

If it brings up a program called smitfraud, you're kinda screwed. It won't hurt your machine, just bring up tons of weird popups even if you unplug yourself from the interenet. I was in office hours with a professor when that happened...so embarassing.

I don't know how to remove it. Shortly after that, my computer completely died (i dont know why, but i know it wasnt the smitfraud) and I spent the next two days straight reserecting my data and computer though boot disks, weird security shortcuts, and reformating. That removed it.
