very true ^
I know more than a few people who only only use theirs for IMing, the web and word processing

though I do have to say that the trackpad is orgasmic

get a mac. period.

I got a mac so I don’t have to worry about viruses/spyware/adware later in the game…and I really enjoy the trackpad when it comes to photoshop.

^^

I’m going to laugh when someday a large percentage of people have macs start getting viruses and freak out because they don’t know why.

^and we get to laugh at you every day till then :)

Well it better not be too high end because the graphics cards in Macs tend to be severely lacking.

IF I was to get a PC, what type of laptop would you recommend? and this is only for PC’s.

I obviously want to avoid Dell because I haven’t had good luck with them. I was thinking of getting a Lenovo either ThinkPad or IdeaPad. Can someone tell me the difference between thinkpad and ideapad, in terms of functionality and usage. Among lenovos, do most students have thinkpads or ideapads?

Any other type of PC’s that are reliable and will last me long and you would recommend?

Why would Macs start getting viruses all of a sudden after a couple of years of being virus-free? Plus, what makes you think PCs wouldn’t be getting viruses at the same time too?

because you want to target the largest audience with viruses etc, which at this time is windows computers. macs are fine computers, just people spout that they are better without knowing anything about computers.

@airballa lenovo makes pretty good laptops. thinkpads are targeted towards the business audience, while ideapads are more for personal computer use.

here is sort of a general comparison of the lenovo laptops

[Lenovo - Laptops ? notebooks ? netbooks ? tablet PCs ? mobile workstations](http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/na/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:CompareByNeed?current-category-id=653343E0DE54435882FABC3CE1BC569A)

If Macs suck, and PCs are the best, then why can’t I find an appropriate Macbook killer?

[Macbook killer?](<a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/978344-macbook-killer-freshman-possibly-cs-haas.html"]Macbook”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/978344-macbook-killer-freshman-possibly-cs-haas.html)

Just get your Macbook. But be sure to match your purse to the color of the case.

What’s with all the hate? Jealous? ;)

Seriously, find a laptop that can compare in battery life (and that has similar minimum capabilities) to the Macbook, for a cheaper price. I’ve been looking all week, yet none of you Apple-haters can seem to find anything!

Here are some half-assed alternatives I’ve come across:
-7 hours, but no optical drive
-9 hours, but no graphics card, and doesn’t even have a Core Duo CPU
-10 hours, but an 11’’ screen

You’re all just hot air!
