Laptops - Screen Sizes

I completely agree with paulhomework. That is what I'm gonna do when I get to college. 12'' Alienware + 17 inch flat panel.

Alienware = overpriced junk.

when are people going to learn.

15.4" Averatec.

otto is correct about the alienware.

I just got a 14'' T-42...the size is perfect. I highly recommend the T series because personally I think 12'' would be a bit too small, and since you probably won't carry the laptop around that often anyway, a 14'' one will be a better choice.

Believe it or not for the configuration I'm going for, Dell's 700m is about $100 more than Alienware's (and I'm not going for 2GB RAM)

I have a 12" iBook, and I have absolutely no problem with the screen size. (it's mostly used for programming and my music) I love the fact it's so portable, it only weighs 2.2kg :) Handy when you have other books to carry too.

i have the exact same dilemma. i love the mobility and compactness of the 12" but when it comes to writing papers and reading articles, i think i'd like the 14". i'm leaning towards 12".

The 14" IBM T42 is pretty good in terms of screen size and weight. It's only 4.9 pounds.

Try writing a 10 page paper the night before it's due on a 12'' screen. You'll be sorry.

uc_benz, this is why you also get a 17'' monitor to connect to your laptop

Precisely. :p
