Laptops

I’m thinking of buying a new macbook before September. Especially if you use it with an iphone, it is very convenient and definitely helps you a lot in many ways.

@highschoolgall Yes, it is pretty convenient! However, if you’re buying only to use with the iPhone wouldn’t a cheaper computer be better?

Any recommendations on the 13 vs 15 inch MacBook Pro for a new 3rd form student? The 15 seems nice if it is mostly used in the dorm room, but the 13 seems more appropriate if it’s being shuttled around all over campus. His school gives iPads for work in class. Thoughts from current/former students or those in the know?

I had a 15”. I loved it. But then, when I bought a new one i was trying to save some $ so I bought the 13” this time and realized I love it even more! He will be carrying it everywhere. The 13”
Is perfect in my opinion.

My vote is for 13. I have both and hate lugging the 15 around. My BS kid chose the 13 for the same reason.

As a gamer, I bought an Alienware 15 that would fit my needs. Wondering if thats gonna stand out amongst the macs.

Take a look at this…it’s got amazing specs for $1,500. I7, 16GB of RAM, 512 SSD. The $1,100 version is more than most need…I5, 8, 256.

I have a MBP 15, as does 1 child. The other has a 13…and I’m always a bit jealous when I pick it up (so small and light). If you don’t need processor upgrades, I would probably prefer the 13 now.

I switched from a 15” to a 13” and never looked back!
