<p>I'd say most people have laptops, but there are a fair few with desktops. People have Dells, Macs, Toshiba, Ienovo or lenovo or whatever, Averatec, etc. I'd say just get whichever one fits you best, whether the criteria are format, price, weight, available memory, etc. Doesn't really matter what everyone else has.</p>
<p>Oh, edit: There's a Dell representative on campus and I believe like a 24 hour Dell hotline, which is one of the reasons my dad went with Dell. When I needed a keyboard replaced they did it in under a day b/c of the Dell affiliation.</p>
<p>A good percentage have Macs as well with pretty excellent AppleCare. There are also Apple reps who service Tufts students.</p>
