Does Tulane have any preference as to what type of laptop its students should be using? If not, what is everyone getting (or what did you already get) for the Class of 2013?

The b-school prefers PCs, however if you even slightly computer savvy you can get by with a Mac. You just have to partition your hard drive and install the Windows OS and Microsoft Office package on your Mac.

My S will be majoring in Business. Thank you for the info. :)

I think it’s recommended that Architecture students have a PC because of some programs they use. If you can’t access a laptop, there are three computer labs with Windows.

BE SURE TO REGISTER THE LAPTOP WITH THE TECH PEOPLE SO YOU CAN GET WIRELESS INTERNET.

This is the link for Tulane’s computer concierge. It has information regarding minimum recommended requirements. My son (architecture) got a laptop that exceeded the recommendations. It also gives you links to the Tulane’s Dell and Mac discounts (not as good as some other schools)
