Should I buy a 15 inch or 17 inch laptop for college?

15 (10char)

i heard that 17s are almost like desktop replacements and may be a little burdensome to carry around is this true?

15 .

15". 17" are pointless, heavy, and have poor battery life

^not the macbook pro! same battery life as the 15!

15" if you want portability.

which, guessing that you’ll carry it around to class… get the 15".

Why not stick with a nice 14.1" laptop?

Keep in mind that even carrying a laptop at all gets tiring eventually. A lot of students bring a laptop but end up getting tired of lugging it to class.

^but i have muscles so its ok.

I have an 18.5’’ that’s detached and has a 24x18x6 part and separate keyboard/mouse. It’s a bit heavy for class and the battery is minimal, but its power is great for general recreation.

Even better: Get the 15’’ then get a 17’’ (or 24’') monitor for your dorm that you can connect to when you do want to watch movies.

17 is like a television. It’s crazy big. Dumb large. Mad huge.

ETA: When I’m alone, or writing for myself, I prefer to call laptops “labtops.” I actually had no idea that the b was a p until I was in 9th or 10th grade.

^Lol. Labtops.

15 inch is a better idea. 17 inch is too big for practical use.

Lol wow, 17 is huge. Go with the 15. I have 14.1, it’s pretty functional. Easy to carry around and such, and I’m pretty light. Unless you’re real buff and enjoy straining yourself.

I like SLightManifesto’s idea, getting a 15, but attaching a larger monitor in the dorm. I think that’s what I’m going to get my son. Working on a larger monitor is so much easier (imo).

I have a 17. It’s really not THAT big of a deal. Get whichever one comes with the computer you like better.
