I need to pay up like, NOW for the dorm. Now, assuming I get Beaty, what would be the better choice? Windsor or Beaty? Windsor looks prettier but it is farther away...Not too sure on the price for both of them either....

I don’t know much about either dorm, but here are the [Room Rental Rates.](<a href=“http://www.housing.ufl.edu/housing/rates.html]Room ”>http://www.housing.ufl.edu/housing/rates.html ) I’m unsure as to why Windsor isn’t on that list.

Do you mean Windsor Hall? That is not a UF dorm, but rather a private dorm. I visited with my son and it is small but nice.

Yeah, I meant Windsor Hall and I understand it’s a private dorm, but there’s no point in paying the UF housing deposit (the $200 one) if Windsor Hall is just plain out better (for a cheaper price, maybe?)

Here is the link to a thread where Windsor Hall was discussed:

<a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-florida/499122-windsor-hall.html?highlight=windsor+hall[/url] ”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-florida/499122-windsor-hall.html?highlight=windsor+hall
;

Here are some quotes (from different threads) that mentioned Windsor Hall:

I’m sure there are some people there that like it. If you are looking for a dorm environment, it is probably fine, as long as you realize that you’re paying more for that than you would for a nice apartment - however, if you are female I still think places like the Ivy House are better. I had a two friends who lived in Windsor Hall for one year, and they had major problems with cleanliness, noise levels, the attitudes of the RAs/office staff, and simple stuff like just getting their mail.

Did a bit of quick googling and it seems that Windsor Hall just as good as normal dorms for incoming freshman, in fact, I’d say most of the people there are freshman.

Windsor Hall ISN’T affiliated with UF so your priority date doesn’t matter. You simply sign a housing agreement with whoever you want to live with an you’re set (until they run out of dorms, anyway).

If you can afford something more expensive like Camden Courts, Windsor Hall or the Ivy House, I’d recommend that because those places are SOO much nicer (and clean!)

The draw back for Windsor hall is its located a few blocks further (I believe 9th st?) from campus (13th st borders campus) so walking back at night would be not the best…
Camden courts is in the same price range as Windsor and its located on 12th i believe, literally half a block from teh courtyards and it is SO much nicer, if I could afford it I’d live there.
