Large Issue With My CSU Application..except I can't find what the issue is

Hey everyone,

I’m an in-state application to CSU’s and I’m realizing that there is most likely some sort of error with my CSU application because my local area CSU (Chico) sent me an email stating there was a deficiency in my A-G’s and that I would need to send a transcript to them to verify that I had in fact satisfied the A-G requirements. I’m afraid that other more competitive CSU’s that I applied to won’t be as kind, and simply reject me because my application somehow doesn’t reflect all of the A-G’s I’ve completed. On the CSU Mentor planner, it actually shows that I have finished my A-G’s, and when I called Chico, the admissions officer wasn’t sure where the deficiency in my application was. So at this point I’m stumped. I’m hoping someone on this forum can help me figure out, how to find the error in my application. I have 8 semesters of social sciences, 10 semesters of english, 12 semesters of math, 8 semesters of science, 6 semesters of an english other than language, 4 semesters of visual/preforming arts, and 2 semesters of a college prep elective. I have a lot of extra semesters because I have chosen to complete my english and math classes at a local California Community College. Finally, I don’t believe my GPA is an issue as it is a 3.86 CSU GPA.

Thank you in advance for the help

Maybe they some how overlooked the Math and English classes taken at the CCC? Are these classes on your HS transcript as Dual Enrollment or are they listed as college classes in the college course section?

Did you send a copy of your college transcript to all the CSU’s? It is required according to the CSU Mentor application instructions to get credit.

@Gumbymom They are listed as dual-enrollment courses. I wasn’t aware I had to send a transcript until I was accepted. Is that what I should do ASAP?

If you look at the link for the application instructions it says to send a transcript. I would send it just to make sure you do not have any more issues. Hopefully this resolves the problem.

@Gumbymom Thank you for the help, should I call CSUs other than my local one after I send the transcript to make sure that my application is 100% complete?

If admissions are open, then I would call to confirm that your transcript is required. If not, you can email admissions. Most of the CSU’s will begin sending out acceptances in February, so that gives you some time. Have you checked the other CSU portals to see if your do list has transcripts required as an item?
