Our D (HS graduate '09) applied to 10 - 8 were OOS. She had 3.8uw, same math sat, similar R/W. First of all I think you have a good chance at all of them. I wouldn’t hesitate to apply to all (and even add a few) We could never have predicted the final cost - merit aid really varied, and was not known till much later in the process. The only school you have in common is UFlorida and she did not get in. Things may have changed but we felt UFlorida & UTexas were the most difficult for OOS students. Know that for UFlorida, it was recommended that she apply for housing even before knowing if she was accepted (strange) Apparently the housing application is a separate thing and you have to get-in-line if you’re going to have a chance at on campus housing (again this was '09). Apply early (meaning early - like very soon now) I know for Michigan and Maryland that will matter. The nice thing about state schools is you will probably hear on a staggered schedule. As you get results you can adjust your list. Do remember to apply to a ‘financial safety’

I would like to go somewhere different and experience a new part of the country, and as a big sports fan, Rutgers doesn’t seem to carry that image of high powered sports while the rest for the most part do. I might apply as a safety but as of now I’m unsure
